Just driving around the west county on New Year's Day, we went to a spot where a Harlan's Hawk (a variety of Red-Tail very unusual to these parts) had been seen, did the Bay Hill Road loop and saw a Golden Eagle (not-altogether-unsuccessful photo through the scope below), shot a few pictures here and there, and then returned to the spot where the Harlan's was reported and, amazingly, saw the Harlan's (second-to-last and last pictures).
